We are currently seeking a Senior Client Service Tax Accountant with relevant Canadian tax experience. You will work alongside a team of seasoned CPA’s and professional staff, working on complex tax engagements and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth. The primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Obtain necessary documentation to effectively prepare and review personal, corporate and trust tax returns, identifying tax savings for clients;

Review accuracy of tax returns, minimize tax liabilities, determine tax credits and provisions;

Assist the team with tax planning and reorganizations, as well as mergers and acquisition transactions;

Conduct research for complex compliance matters and offshore investments;

Prepare and complete partnership tax returns and investment files;

Respond to client and CRA inquires;

Liaise with internal and external auditors;

Delegate responsibilities to junior team members, including reviewing team members’ work for accuracy and compliance;

Recommend tax strategies that align with the firm’s strategic vision and goals;

Prepare memos and correspond with clients on various matters;

Maintain required level of technical knowledge and follow industry trends and changes related to tax;

Seek methods to increase compliance and efficiency.
To qualify for this challenging and rewarding position, candidates must have:

CPA designation with a BSc/BA in Accounting or Finance or recently passed the CFE;

Relevant Canadian tax experience within a public accounting firm;

Completed CPA In-depth tax program, or currently enrolled;

Experience in private client tax services;

Strong client relationship management abilities, with the capacity to oversee multiple engagements;

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel) and familiarity with accounting and tax software (e.g., Caseware, iFirm, Blue J, TaxPrep)
