Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Key Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring the proper functioning and security of vehicle keys, including programming, cutting, and managing key systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive security systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on precision and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Program, cut, and duplicate automotive keys using specialized equipment
Assist customers with key-related issues, including replacements and reprogramming
Maintain accurate records of key inventory and customer transactions
Troubleshoot key system malfunctions and recommend appropriate solutions
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Collaborate with service technicians to support vehicle security needs
Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies
Update clients, dispatch, and management on your daily schedule, if there are any delays or changes.
Be responsible for maintaining company vehicle.
Be responsible for keeping accurate logs of sales stops.
Be on the road daily meeting with clients at on-site locations.
Be responsible for sending closes after the completion of each job if it's not a large project.
Troubleshoot & resolve product issues and concerns

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Possess computer skills, including email and use of internet.
21+ years of age with valid driver’s license.
No criminal record (We will run a background check).
Ability to work remotely without constant supervision.
Go getter and problem solver attitude.
2-5 years of automotive locksmith or key experience is a plus.
Ability to work in all elements of weather.
Ability to lift car hoods, disconnect vehicle batteries, enter and exit vehicles.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, squat, stand, stoop and bend.

Skills

Proven experience in automotive key programming and cutting preferred
Knowledge of automotive security systems, immobilizers, and transponder technology
Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency for record keeping and system operation
Valid driver’s license is a plus for mobility around different locations
