Administrative Assistant

Gill & Bird LLP is a full-service CPA firm supporting businesses and business owners with their tax, financial reporting and day to day business challenges. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant who will provide support to partners, staff and clients with some or all of the following:

Greet people, answer telephones, schedule and confirm appointments;
Assistance with preparing, editing and proofreading correspondence, reports, financial statements and other documents for delivery to clients;
Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information;
Records management including organization of client files;
Assistance with scheduling of client work and managing relationships with clients;
Proactively serving clients and responding on a timely basis to client inquiries and requests;
Order and maintain office supplies inventory; and
Assisting with general administrative duties as they arise.

Keys personal attributes include an individual who has/is:

Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Ability to perform administrative duties with speed and accuracy;
Ability to work independently without immediate supervision;
Strong organization and time management skills;
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment;
Previous experience in a similar role;
Advanced experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Adobe PDF, and working knowledge of Caseware, Taxprep, Quickbooks and Sage; and
Dedication and a passion to help our clients succeed.

The ideal candidate would be willing to help out with whatever challenges may arise. As a growing accounting practice our client needs are also constantly changing. The position is a full-time position and is expected to commence as soon as a suitable candidate is identified and will be at our office on the south side of Edmonton.
