Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, National Recruitment, Market Development and Events, the Student Recruitment Coordinator (SRC) coordinates the day-to-day operations of the domestic student recruitment unit. The unit’s primary function includes promoting Centennial College to prospective learners in secondary and post-secondary institutions; community, educational, and career organizations; business and industry; and relevant communities.
The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the operations of domestic student recruitment, using data analytics to recommend recruitment tiers, territories and priority schools, centres, communities and connections. The incumbent prioritizes recruitment in-person interactions including, but not limited to, school visits, fairs, parent and supporter events, post-secondary events, College Information Programs (CIP), campus events, campus tours and visitors to specialized in-person experiences and redeploys recruiters when required. The SRC develops and maintains resources, processes, and systems including the customer relationship management (CRM) system, CRM Recruit, and the coordination of recruitment staff to support chat, text campaigns, schedules virtual one-on-one meetings with recruiters, and enhances project management systems and tools.
The SRC promotes Centennial College to key influencers of prospective learners and is accountable for reaching out, engaging with, responding to, and establishing positive communication and relationships with influencers (teachers and counsellors, community-based counsellors, parents and supporters) of prospective learners with the goal of increasing the quantity and quality of prospective leads and applicants into all Centennial programs, pathways, and delivery methods (ex. Full-Time, Part-Time, in-person, online, etc.).
The Coordinator researches industry trends, reviews application data, and has a fulsome understanding of the College’s program offerings, enrolment patterns, and other relevant data to positively influence diverse groups of potential learners and other relevant audiences.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of domestic student recruitment staff by through advising, utilizing project management tools, and implementing processes into the CRM to support daily recruitment operations.
- Coordinates the internal staffing and primarily, the recruitment staffing, of large on-campus and off-campus events, including the Ontario College Fair, Open Houses, Academic Showcases, enhanced tour programs, fall recruitment school visit season, etc.
- Supports, mentors, and assists in training new employees, including students, part-time, seasonal, and full-time staff.
- Participates in, recommends, and builds and maintains critical paths, job aids, training materials, lead generation capture, uploads, and data related to recruitment initiatives for Centennial College directed to prospective learners and their families, influencers, and employers.
- Identifies opportunities to promote and encourage prospective learners to connect with recruiters, the College, and attend on-campus and virtual events and activities.
- Gathers and makes recommendations based on market intelligence through best practices of competitor institutions and perceptions of prospective learners and families, counsellor, employer, and staff.
- Provides content and input into the development of all specific presentation packages to meet the needs of the multiple range of audiences that Centennial Recruitment addresses.
- Ensures all relevant prospective data, including prospective leads, engagements, clients, contacts, and events, are collected and captured within the Recruitment Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
- Coordinates appropriate in-reach and outreach activities for focused part-time and online learning opportunities through offering on- or off-campus or virtual information sessions, and recruitment fairs.
- Provides on-campus tours to prospective learners, influencers, employers, and school groups as required; and schedules meetings with prospective learners and their influencers in-person, online, or over the phone to encourage enrolment.
- Coordinates the delivery of recruitment materials and participates in the College Information Program (CIP) on behalf of Centennial College.
- Identifies, engages with, and establishes positive communications and relationships with prospective institutions and their staff and representatives (guidance personnel, department heads, key contacts, parents, managers, and others), with the goal of ensuring that pertinent Centennial College information is available directly and indirectly to potential learners who are in the process of making post-secondary decisions.
- Implements a variety of on- and off-campus and virtual special events related to student recruitment and communications; and participates in ongoing conversion strategies through events and campaigns.

Qualifications/Experience
- 3-year diploma or equivalent in Project Management, Education, Data Analytics, Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in student recruitment or education/career pathway advising, preferably within a post-secondary setting; or experience with sales or marketing within a post-secondary setting; and project management or coordination of staff activities.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering multimedia presentations to large groups.
- Demonstrated experience with the planning, delivery and support of large-scale events and experience coordinating volunteers during events.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, develop rapport, and form productive customer sales relationships with a wide variety of potential prospects and their families and representatives in culturally diverse environments, as well as communicate effectively in a variety of media.
- Excellent customer service, sales, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to work independently, establish and meet priorities, and exercise good judgement.
- Experience with data collection and working with databases or Customer Service Management (CRM) tools.
- Experience and understanding into the diverse needs of post-secondary leaners with a focus on what engages and appeals to students.
- Thorough understanding of all levels of the provincial education system, current issues and related trends, and legislation at the provincial and Ministry level through to boards of education as required.
