WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.
WSP has a full-time opportunity for a Team Lead to join our Remediation Program Management Downstream Team in Vancouver, British Columbia – for the right candidate other locations in the province may be accepted. As a Team Lead, you’ll guide a team while continuing to contribute to project work as a senior project manager, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a positive and collaborative environment. This is a key role for someone who thrives on mentoring colleagues, driving team success, and delivering results in a dynamic setting.
Your Impact
- Lead and inspire a diverse team to deliver high-quality results while embracing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct career development meetings and year-end discussions.
- Act as first point of contact for team members , facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Encourage a sense of common purpose and direction, setting clear expectations and monitoring performance.
- Review timecards, expenses, and approve vacation requests.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring each team member meets their utilization targets and project deadlines.
- Ensure the short-term backlog of work is scheduled and that workload is appropriately distributed across the team.
- Ensure the team is informed of organizational procedures as it pertains to fieldwork and health and safety.
- Provide leadership and guidance to develop and mentor junior team members.
- Remain involved in project work; maintaining a utilization target.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Minimum 8 years of work experience in a consulting environment in the field of environmental assessments and remediations, that includes supervising project teams and demonstrating leadership at a local level.
Strong working knowledge of the BC Environmental Management Act and associated regulations; and an understanding of the site closure process.
- Ability to mentor and support team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Strong time management and prioritization to balance project delivery with team leadership responsibilities.
- Proactive approach to resolving issues and identifying staffing needs.
- Solid understanding of organizational procedures and commitment to maintaining high utilization targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members.
- Comfortable working across projects and adjusting to changing priorities while supporting team success.
- Proficient in project management software and collaboration tools.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $93,700 – $124,200
MB & ON: $85,500 – $117,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $84,700 – $112,400
