Raise is currently hiring a Construction Coordinator on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.
Description
As a Construction Coordinator, in this role you will play a key operational role supporting our clients Construction Management Team (CMT). Your core mission is to facilitate the safe, timely, and efficient execution of industrial construction projects in the field.
This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring frequent presence at the active construction workface. You will bridge communication gaps between the CMT, engineering personnel, third-party contractors, and site operations to keep projects moving smoothly while driving digital tool adoption on-site.
Responsibilities
- Field Coordination & Interface: Act as the primary liaison between the CMT, engineering, trade contractors, and plant operations to streamline daily field activities and eliminate workflow bottlenecks.

Workface Presence: Conduct daily site walks and physical workface reviews to ensure active work aligns with safety protocols, schedules, and quality standards.

RFIs & Engineering Support: Serve as the on-site conduit to engineering teams, expediting answers to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and field changes.

Progress Validation & Schedule Review: Conduct weekly reviews of contractor-submitted schedules. Work directly with discipline superintendents and contractors to validate physical progress and escalate any variance to the Construction Manager.

Productivity Tracking: Measure, calculate, and analyze construction productivity metrics to identify trends and optimize field efficiency.

Digital Systems Adoption: Support CMT members and contractor field personnel in utilizing mobile devices (tablets), digital tracking tools, and computerized project software.

Action Item & Administrative Management: Maintain logs, action items, digital project records, and accurate administrative documentation for audit and handover purposes.
Qualifications

Senior Tier: 10+ years of direct field construction experience within heavy industrial, mining, energy, or large infrastructure projects.

Intermediate Tier: 5–9 years of field experience in heavy industrial construction or site-level project management support.

Demonstrated history working in remote, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) industrial environments under strict safety regulations.

Core Technical & Analytical Skills

Digital Literacy: Hands-on experience using field-level tablets, mobile construction apps, and digital tracking software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6 reader, Power BI, or MS Project).

Schedule & Productivity Analysis: Ability to read baseline schedules, evaluate Earned Value/progress, and calculate trade productivity rates.

Blueprint & Technical Aptitude: Proficient at reading complex engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications to resolve site RFIs efficiently.

Weekly Schedule Review Reports: Clear feedback summaries compiled from discipline superintendents detailing progress vs. plan.

Accurate RFI Tracking Logs: Expedited technical resolutions documented and logged in real time.

Field Productivity Metrics: Quantifiable tracking reports showing labor hours, completed quantities, and efficiency gaps.

Validated Progress Audits: Unbiased verification of physical contractor completion percentages prior to invoice approvals.

Education and Certifications

Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.

Alternative: Journeyperson ticket in a relevant trade with proven, long-term field leadership/coordinating experience.

Certifications (Asset): PMP (Project Management Professional), Gold Seal Certification (GSC), or formal safety certifications (e.g., NCSO).
