Since 1948, AGF has played a key role in the supply and installation of reinforcing steel, with over 50,000 projects completed across the country and beyond. We’ve contributed to major construction projects such as the light-rail transit in Toronto, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the SickKids Research Institute. Bend, cut, and bundle steel bars using automatic, semi-automatic, and manual machinery, and see your work come to life in major construction projects!

What we offer :

Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm
Starting wage of $21.34/hour, with increases to $23.58/hour after 3 months, $25.83/hour after 12 months, $26.95/hour after 24 months, and $28.07/hour after 36 months;
$1 premium for crane certification, $1 premium for the evening shift
Weekly pay;
Full insurance coverage (health, dental, and vision) after the probationary period;

Group RRSP with a $1.50 per hour employer contribution after the probationary period;

Paid vacation, including 10 paid holidays;
$200 per year for equipment allowance, based on your position;
Telemedicine program and employee assistance program;
Physical activity reimbursement of $600 per year to promote health and well-being.

About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:

Safely operate shearing, bending, and shaping machines;
Cut rebar to specified lengths and bend to required shapes and angles;
Ensure correct bar sizes, grades, and tags are used for each order;
Bend to lift and manually load up to 50 pounds rebar into the machines on a regular basis;
In a standing position, untangle and shake up to 50 pounds of rebar as needed;
Perform daily pre-use inspections of machinery and tools and daily hazard assessment and immediately report any machinery irregularities;
Permanently wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid injurie;
Keep hands, clothing, and tools away from all moving parts and never bypass safety guards or devices;
Clean machines and work areas after following proper shutdown and lockout/tagout procedures;
Comply at all times with AGF’s Health & Safety policies;
Perform other duties as assigned.

About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.

1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
Basic math/measurement skills (an asset);
Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
Ability to work physically – lift/move up to 50lbs;
Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work;
Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork. #P1
