As a Systems Quality Engineer, you will analyze post-market data, lead complaint investigations, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will collaborate cross-functionally with the Design and Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, and Risk Management Teams to drive continuous product and process improvements.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform and document technical investigations into product feedback and complaints involving medical devices
- Review log files, replay data, configuration files, and product specifications to support technical investigations
- Characterize reported issues, identify trends and assess potential product risks
- Perform and document root-cause investigations for confirmed product issues in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineering teams
- Translate investigation findings into actionable design or process improvements to enhance product performance and reliability
- Build and maintain a technical knowledge base of investigation outcomes to support continuous improvement

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Software, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software, systems, design, or quality engineering, ideally in medical devices or another regulated, high-reliability industry
- Proven track record diagnosing complex software or system-level failures using technical evidence such as log files, replay data, configuration files, or product specifications
- Experience with signal processing and large dataset analysis
- Experience with Java, MATLAB, and C is preferred
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to translate findings into clear, meaningful recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a technical context
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams and functions
- Driven, motivated, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $94,000 - $114,000 (CAD Annually)
