Creekside Home and Garden is a production & retail garden centre, open all year. All members of our team must be customer service oriented. We are looking for a talented individual who can help us in two distinct roles:
- 1. Nursery Coordinator/Buyer
- 2. Assistant Team Lead
1. Nursery Coordinator/Buyer:
- We are seeking candidates possessing great organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate all aspects of our outdoors sales area including, but not limited to: planning, planting perennials, ordering nursery stock (trees, shrubs, & perennials), merchandising, training staff, and serving customers.
2. Assistant Team Lead
- Because the Nursery Coordinator/Buyer position is not a full-time (year-round) position, we are looking for an individual who also has the qualities and ability to help lead a “team” focused on constantly improving customer service and production efficiency and product quality in a safe and professional, yet fun and friendly, manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursery Coordinator/Buyer:
This position requires an individual who likes change. From working at a desk in the fall preparing our spring orders to planting and/or seeding in the greenhouses in late winter to organizing/merchandising our outdoor nursery in the spring to coordinating customer requests and re-orders during the peak spring and summer months there is plenty of variety to this job. Customer service and working well on a team member is year-round.
Experience using spreadsheets (Excel) and communicating clearly over the phone, through email, and in person is required.
This position will include most of these tasks, and a few more:
- Order nursery stock - communicating with our suppliers mostly using spreadsheets (Excel) and email.
- Coordinating and/or planting perennials.
- Seeding bedding plants using a seeding machine and by hand.
- Assist in production (planting and plant care).
- Organize/merchandise outdoor selling area.
- Respond to customer inquiries (especially those over email).
- Train staff and direct team members in the nursery.
- Manage nursery inventory including ordering from several different vendors.
2. Assistant Team Lead:
Foster a positive work atmosphere and team culture including addressing staff complaints and resolving problems.
Help coach and motivate team members to provide a great customer experience and contribute towards a productive team-oriented work environment.
A strong customer service attitude, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to professionally handle customer concerns face to face are a must!
Other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.

Pay: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
