Job Overview
Mid Island Mobile Detailing is hiring reliable, outgoing Mobile Auto Detailers to work throughout the Comox Valley.
This position combines mobile interior detailing, headlight refreshes and face-to-face customer outreach. You will receive paid hands-on training through supervised detailing jobs before completing services independently at customers’ locations.
When detailing jobs are not booked, paid work will generally include door-to-door customer outreach, distributing flyers and generating future bookings. Employees will carry the mobile detailing setup and may complete services on the spot when a customer is interested.
This position is best suited to someone dependable, hardworking, efficient, confident speaking with new people and comfortable working independently.
Compensation
Guaranteed base pay of $21 per hour for all hours worked. After training, independent detailing jobs include performance-based job pay. Efficient detailers can typically earn the equivalent of $25 to $30+ per hour while completing jobs. Bonuses are available for personally generated customer bookings. All equipment, cleaning products and paid training are provided.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include completing mobile interior details and headlight refreshes, following company cleaning procedures and final inspection standards, working efficiently while maintaining consistent quality, communicating professionally with customers, taking before-and-after photos, assessing vehicle size and condition using a company quoting guide, performing door-to-door customer outreach when jobs are not booked, booking future appointments or offering immediate service when possible, collecting payments and providing receipts, transporting, cleaning, restocking and caring for company equipment, and accurately recording hours, breaks, job times and completed sales.
Ideal Applicant
The ideal applicant is extremely dependable and punctual, outgoing, personable and confident speaking with strangers, able to calmly handle objections and rejection, has strong communication and customer-service skills, is capable of working quickly without overlooking important details, is comfortable working independently at customer locations, is willing to learn, follow procedures and accept feedback, and is motivated to generate work rather than wait for bookings.
Requirements
Applicants must have a valid driver’s licence, a reliable insured vehicle, enough space to transport a compact mobile detailing setup, availability to work throughout Comox, Courtenay and surrounding areas, comfort conducting door-to-door customer outreach, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Previous detailing, cleaning, sales or customer-service experience is an asset but is not required.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Approximately 20 to 40 hours per week. Shifts generally range from 4 to 8 hours. Weekday and weekend availability is an asset.
