Personal Support Worker (PSW) – | Peterborough, ON

At Home Instead, you will provide one-on-one home care, allowing you to slow down, focus on your client, and deliver the quality care you were trained to provide. This is a PSW job in home care where you are respected, supported, and given the time to truly make a difference.
We offer 15–40 hours per week, with longer visits and consistent client assignments.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and rise/retire routines)
- Supporting safe mobility, transfers, and fall prevention using proper body mechanics
- Providing companionship and cognitive, social, and emotional support
- Assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, and household tasks
- Preparing nutritious meals and snacks, including special diets, while following food safety practices
- Providing medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Promoting a safe home environment and monitoring changes in client condition
- Supporting families through respite care and maintaining client independence
Qualifications & Abilities
- PSW certificate and caregiving experience
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Favourable professional references
- Clear Vulnerable Sector
- Ability to take the initiative
- Collaborative team player
- Passion for providing high-quality, relationship-based care
