Job Overview

Just Platters is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Full-Time Line Cook & Kitchen Helper to join our team.

In this role, you will assist with food preparation, cooking, order assembly, cleaning, dishwashing, and the day-to-day organization of the kitchen. You will play an important part in ensuring that food is prepared consistently, orders are completed on time, and the kitchen remains clean, safe, and organized.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, follows recipes and instructions carefully, and is willing to support the team with all regular kitchen duties.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
Assist with washing, chopping, portioning, marinating, and organizing ingredients
Assemble takeout, delivery, and catering orders accurately and efficiently
Monitor cooking times and food quality to ensure meals are prepared consistently
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, trays, and kitchen equipment
Clean kitchen counters, sinks, floors, shelving, storage areas, and appliances
Organize ingredients, supplies, containers, and equipment in their designated areas
Follow proper food-handling, storage, labelling, and sanitation procedures
Rotate ingredients using the first-in, first-out method and notify management when supplies are running low
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries
Remove garbage, recycling, and food waste as required
Complete opening, closing, and general kitchen-cleaning duties
Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, catering kitchen, or food-service environment is preferred
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portioning requirements
Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices
Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive kitchen tasks
Ability to lift and carry ingredients, kitchen supplies, equipment, and food containers
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required

Pay: $17.80-$18.50 per hour
