Head Chef – Barbaretta
Spruce Grove, AB

We’re not looking for someone to run a kitchen. We’re looking for someone to helpshape a restaurant.

Barbaretta is an elevated cocktail and wine bar in the heart of Spruce Grove. We believe exceptional hospitality starts with exceptional people, and we’re searching for a Head Chef who wants to build something meaningful alongside our ambitious leadership team.

This role is for someone who sees food as storytelling, leadership as mentorship, and innovation as a responsibility, not as a buzzword.

If you’re passionate about developing people, creating unforgettable dining experiences, and challenging what guests expect from a restaurant in Spruce Grove, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach, and inspire our back-of-house team through positive, hands-on leadership.
Recruit, train, and develop future kitchen leaders.
Create seasonal and innovative menus that excite guests while remaining profitable and executable.
Build a culture of accountability, respect, and creativity.
Collaborate closely with the general manager & owners on the vision and future of Barbaretta.
Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization.
Manage food costs, labour, inventory, ordering, and kitchen systems.
Work alongside the front-of-house team to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Previous experience leading a high-performing kitchen
Strong coaching and team development skills
Menu development and costing experience
Passion for local ingredients and elevated food
Excellent organizational and operational skills
Calm under pressure with a solutions-focused mindset
A desire to continuously improve, innovate, and inspire
