Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate After-School Pick-Up Driver / Student Transportation Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will ensure the safe and timely transportation of students from school to their homes or designated destinations. Your enthusiasm, reliability, and excellent communication skills will help create a positive experience for children and families alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a vehicle to pick up students from school or designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
Assist children during boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times
Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and colleagues regarding student pick-up schedules and any delays or issues
Provide friendly customer service by addressing questions or concerns from parents and guardians with professionalism and courtesy
Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary safety features before each shift
Follow all transportation policies, including proper documentation of routes and student attendance records
Support students with special needs or additional care requirements, including senior care if applicable

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in a caregiving role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus
Mechanical knowledge of vehicles to assist with basic troubleshooting or maintenance needs
Multilingual abilities are highly valued; fluency in Spanish, English, or other languages enhances communication with diverse communities
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, school staff, and team members
Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates are encouraged to apply
Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor
Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and transportation protocols
