Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing program delivery and student support periods
- Provincial and/or alternative report card completion;
- Supporting student Special Education (e.g., IEP creation/update, pathway planning, academic support)
- Support and collaboration with Six Nations Education Counsellor and Re-engagement Counsellor
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate (OCT) of Qualification and qualified to teach in the Senior divisions, in accordance with Ministry of Education;
- Special Education Part 1 required;
- Qualifications to teach Math, Geography, Physical Education, and/or Visual Arts an asset.
- Willingness to teach cross-discipline, which may include subjects outside of OCT qualifications based on student course need;
- Permanent teaching experience required;
- Ability to promote equitable practices which value diversity, inclusion, and well-being;
- Demonstrated experience in culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy, with specified focus on Indigenous student engagement and achievement;
- Knowledge and understanding of culturally relevant approaches, learning from the land, and tools that can be used to teach and assess Indigenous students effectively are an asset;
- Knowledge of Haudenosaunee and/or Anishinaabe cultures, histories, traditional teachings, perspectives and values, supported by lived experience and an understanding of their importance in educational and community contexts, is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are Indigenous or has lived experiences of Indigenous issues and education;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including parents/caregivers;
- Demonstrated organizational, classroom management and time management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to adapt to change easily;

Job Specifications
Hours of Work 1.0 FTE Annually
Rate of Pay $57,408 - $120,054 Annually
(based on 1.0 FTE); salary grid rate is based on QECO rating and teaching experience; annual salary is prorated based on FTE; grid rate effective September 1, 2025.
