Your new role
- Be involved in the development lifecycle as you plan, design, build, and test new features
- Take ownership of your work by enhancing and adding new features to our existing codebase
- Assist users and team members by handling small tasks and resolving production bug fixes
- Work independently on various web development tasks but also collect feedback from other team members through quality control and testing
- Get your boots muddy with site visits to see how our software is used by our customers

Muddy Boots Inc. is in Calgary, on the downtown west end with easy access to the C-train and the +15 system.
What you will need to succeed
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end web development
- Experienced in at least one programming language
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge with SQL querying and databases
- Knowledgeable with Git and Github
- Familiar with MVC frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with strong interpersonal, analytical, time management, and collaboration skills
- Experience with testing and test frameworks (RSpec, Cypress, TDD, BDD)
Nice to haves
- Experience with JavaScript framework (e.g. Vue.js, React, Angular)
- Familiar with GraphQL and Elasticsearch
- Familiar with Ruby on Rails (or similar MVC framework)
- Experience in the oil and gas industry

We started off with a focus in the Oil and Gas sector but have seen our software grow into multiple different industries.
