Roots to Sky Child & Family Services provides community-based support services for children, youth, and families through structured programming, behavioural support, life skills development, and relationship-focused care.
We are seeking caring, experienced, and reliable individuals to join our growing team as Mental Health & Community Support Workers.
Position Overview
This role involves supporting children and youth with emotional, behavioural, developmental, and mental health needs within community, residential, and program settings.
Staff will assist with daily routines, emotional regulation, life skills development, recreation, and community engagement while helping create a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
Services are delivered using trauma-informed, relationship-based, and culturally responsive approaches.

Responsibilities
- Support children and youth within residential, program, and community settings
- Assist with emotional regulation and behavioural support strategies
- Support daily living routines, life skills, and community participation
- Participate in recreational, therapeutic, and structured activities
- Maintain documentation, shift notes, and reporting requirements
- Support safety, supervision, and positive relationship-building
- Work collaboratively with families, staff, and community agencies
- Assist with transportation and community outings when required
- Support implementation of individualized support plans and routines
Qualifications
Applicants with backgrounds in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
- Developmental Service Worker (DSW)
- Child & Youth Worker (CYW)
- Social Service Worker (SSW)
- Mental Health & Addictions
- Psychology or related human service fields
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience supporting children, youth, or vulnerable populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting individuals with behavioural, developmental, or mental health needs preferred
- Ability to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Check required
- First Aid & CPR certification preferred
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is strongly preferred

Schedule
Hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and community-based support depending on program needs.
Hours: 30 hours - 40 hours weekly
