Your work environment at EXP
EXP is searching for a Mechanical Designer to join our MEP team in our Markham, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Under the supervision of senior mechanical engineers or project manager, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts and schedules .
Develop plans and design layouts for mechanical systems that include HVAC, plumbing, fire protection , and medical gases.
Create drawings and layouts using AutoCAD or Revit software to show mechanical systems on plans, sections, and elevations. Assist with interference coordination between building systems .
Carry out the mechanical calculations to size ductwork, HVAC piping, plumbing, and drainage as required for the systems .
Conduct site survey for existing conditions when required .
Obtain information on equipment from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers .
Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member .
Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed .
What your experience looks like
Mechanical Engineering Degree/College Diploma
At least 2 years of related mechanical building services experience
AutoCAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to read mechanical, architectural, structural drawings
Ability to understand piping/plumbing diagrams
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products and Bluebeam

The salary range for this role is between $70K - $80K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
