Position Overview
Do you love solving complex problems and writing clean, reliable code? Explorer Software is looking for a skilled, analytical Application Developer to join our fully remote DevOps team to help build new software applications and enhance our existing codebase. In this role, you’ll design and implement new features, write unit tests, refactor existing code, and troubleshoot applications across Eclipse, our construction accounting ERP. You’ll bring a sound knowledge of software engineering and excellent analytical skills, along with a strong background in C# and .NET and proficiency with the MS SQL Server platform. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, maintain, and support back-end functionality within Eclipse ERP
- Build SQL, C#, .NET, and XML-based solutions, enhancements, and application features
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement application improvements
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
- Maintain technical documentation related to development efforts
- Support ongoing modernization and enhancement initiatives within Eclipse
- Learn and support Eclipse-specific technologies, including PVX
- Collaborate and communicate effectively within a fully remote work environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in back-end software development
- Strong SQL programming and database design experience
- Strong experience with C# and .NET application development
- Experience designing, reading, troubleshooting, and maintaining XML-based data structures and integrations
- Experience developing and maintaining business applications or ERP software
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex application logic
- Experience working with relational databases and stored procedures
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work directly with support teams, consultants, and end users to resolve technical issues
Nice to Have:
- Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, or distribution software
- Familiarity with financial, accounting, inventory, purchasing, or operational business processes
- Experience with API integrations and data exchange processes
- Knowledge of application performance tuning and optimization
- Experience working in a customer-driven software environment
- Familiarity with source control and change management practices
- Experience working effectively in a remote development environment
- Experience with PVX or similar business application programming languages
