Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking two individuals for the position of Material Handler/Crane Operator in our Edmonton (Nisku), AB location.

Branch Address: 701 15th Avenue, Nisku, AB, T9E 7L5

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Rotating shifts is a requirement of the role - rotating every 2-4 weeks (7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:30pm-7:00am).

Role and Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently load, unload, and transport steel materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment.
Operate packaging tools (machine and hand).
Using RF devices for accurate material tracking.
Paying close attention to accuracy and detail.
Working in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Equipment and Physical Skills Required:

Two to three years of experience operating an overhead crane in an industrial environment.
Experience handling steel plate and/or structural material is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and load securement.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment is considered an asset.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Ability to work rotating shifts.

Hourly Rate: $30.00 to start, $32.79 after 3 months
