PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Position Type: Part-TimeCompensation: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Expected Hours: 32-40 hours per week, with opportunity for growth

POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services offered by Roots to Sky Child and Family Services. The successful candidate will play a key role in community engagement, service coordination, referral management, program administration, partnership development, and organizational growth.
This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative professional with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination & Service Delivery
- Coordinate referrals, intakes, and service inquiries Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation Support the development and delivery of child, youth, and family programs Maintain accurate and confidential client and program records Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners, schools, healthcare providers, Indigenous organizations, child welfare agencies, and other stakeholders Participate in community outreach and partnership-building initiatives Represent Roots to Sky Child and Family Services in a professional manner
Administrative & Operational Support
- Support scheduling, documentation, reporting, and administrative functions Assist with policy development, quality assurance, and organizational compliance Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff coordination activities Participate in meetings, case consultations, and organizational planning initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Social Service Work, Developmental Service Work, Psychology, Human Services, Community Services, or a related field Minimum two (2) years of experience working within child, youth, family, community, social service, developmental service, mental health, or related sectors Experience in program coordination, case management, community development, or service delivery is considered an asset Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered approaches Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain) Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation Legally authorized to work in Canada
ASSETS
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations Knowledge of child welfare, Jordan’s Principle, mental health, developmental services, or community-based programming Experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural, developmental, or mental health needs
