We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing/Test Support Technician to join our New Product Introduction and Improvement (NPI&I) team at our Mount Pearl, NL office. The ideal candidate will focus on supporting production of electro-mechanical assemblies for defence applications. This role is part of the Production Support Team, which includes Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Automation Specialists, and Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.
The ideal candidate will provide support to Manufacturing Engineering, Production Support, Production, and Quality by working cross-functionally to solve problems and drive efficient, high-quality, and manufacturable products. This position plays a key role in closing the loop between engineering design, production, quality, and process optimization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the introduction and refinement of defence-grade electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with Manufacturing and Test Engineers / Technologists to optimize product designs for manufacturability, including tooling development, assembly support, assembly sequencing, and workstation layouts.

Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), workmanship standards, and visual aids.

Provide direct support to production in troubleshooting assembly challenges and implementing corrective actions.

Assist with pilot builds and support low-rate initial production (LRIP) efforts to validate processes, tolling, and provide feedback for iterative design improvements.

Coordinate with Quality and Engineering to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Train production personnel on updated procedures, tooling, and process changes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technician diploma or a related field; equivalent military or industry experience considered.

2+ years of working in highly regulated manufacturing environments such as defence, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors.

2+ years of hands-on experience in assembly of electro-mechanical products and PCBs.

Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assembly practices, technical drawings, schematics and industry standards.

Familiarity with basic design modification workflows (redlines) and the ability to work from CAD models, schematics, and BOMs.

Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Strong attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to process improvements considered and asset.

Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with ERP, MES, and digital documentation systems.
