The eBay Seller Experience team is looking for a dedicated, creative, and highly experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer to help architect, design, and build scalable, high-performing software for sellers worldwide. In this role, you will work across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and platform integrations that power core selling experiences on eBay’s global marketplace.
You will contribute to systems used by sellers to list inventory, manage their business, optimize performance, and grow successfully on eBay. This is a high-impact role at the center of eBay’s selling ecosystem. It requires strong technical judgment, multi-functional leadership, and a passion for building reliable, intuitive, and scalable products.
As a Staff Full Stack Engineer, you will own end-to-end technical delivery across the full stack, from modern React-based user experiences to robust Node.js services and integrations. You will also help shape engineering practices, mentor other engineers, and drive technical excellence across the team.
Design, build, and deploy reliable, high-performing full-stack applications and APIs using React, Node.js, and TypeScript, translating complex business requirements into scalable architectures.
Collaborate closely with multi-functional partners, including Product, Build, and other Engineering teams, to deliver high-impact end-to-end seller experiences in an Agile environment.
Optimize developer productivity and system consistency by creating reusable components, shared libraries, and incorporating AI-assisted development practices.
Ensure high software quality, system observability, and operational excellence through comprehensive testing, continuous integration, and proactive production support.
Mentor and guide other engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, and design alignment, raising the engineering bar across the team.
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, with strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and modern web fundamentals in high-traffic production environments.
Solid understanding of backend service design, microservices, distributed systems, database modeling (relational/NoSQL), and API development (REST/GraphQL).
Strong grasp of frontend architecture, component design, state management, performance optimization, and web accessibility.
Hands-on experience with modern engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, comprehensive testing, cloud-native observability, and AI-assisted development tools.
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partner teams.
Self-driven and highly collaborative mindset, with a strong commitment to engineering excellence, continuous learning, and fostering an inclusive environment.
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$142,400 - C$190,100
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
