We are looking for a Manager, Canadian Tax who will be responsible for Canadian tax compliance, tax accounting, and supporting the company’s operational activities.
Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance

Oversee the complete process of preparing Canadian income tax returns (T2 and T5013)

Plan, coordinate and review the work to be performed by tax analysts

Plan the collection of information required for the preparation of tax returns
-
Coordinate with consultants for the calculation of tax credits (R&D)

Monitor tax assessments and maintain up-to-date tax balances. Communicate with government authorities to reconcile discrepancies and resolve disputes

Coordinate the optimal calculation of installment payments
Tax Accounting

Analyze and review tax provisions for Canadian legal entities and the consolidated entity
-
Present tax-related results to the consolidation team, finance management, and external auditors
-
Prepare the tax note for financial statements and supporting analyses
-
Track tax continuity schedules by legal entity
-
Review reconciliations between tax provisions and prior year income tax returns (“true-up”) prepared by tax analysts
-
Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and Regulation 52-109
Tax Audits
-
Collaborate with the tax team responsible for audits conducted by various authorities
Related Tasks
-
Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of tax processes to enhance operational performance and support the evolution of the function
-
Contribute to tax savings opportunities and tax planning initiatives

Ensure ongoing implementation of new tax requirements
-
Manage a team of analysts and support their development and training
-
Participate in the integration of acquired companies or the divestiture of businesses
-
Support business units and other departments in their decision-making
-
Respond to ad hoc tax-related requests
Qualifications:
When your expertise drives us:

Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax legislation

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
CPA designation
-
Tax training: CICA In-Depth Tax Course or graduate degree in taxation

Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in tax compliance and tax accounting

Proficiency with standard IT tools such as Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
-
Knowledge of Taxprep
-
Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Longview, an asset
-
Demonstrated leadership
-
Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and propose efficiency gains
-
High tolerance for ambiguity, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and strong analytical and synthesis skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to build strong relationships within a team and with other departments

Strong organizational skills, ability to manage priorities, and autonomy

Ability to work under pressure and problem-solving skills

Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written (regular exchanges with clients located in Quebec and Ontario.
