Anti Racism Program Coordinator
The Anti-Racism Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing, AIWCC's Anti-Racism Program. The Coordinator leads projects and activities that promote equity, inclusion, belonging, and cross-cultural understanding while supporting newcomers and racialized community members in navigating racism, discrimination, and systemic barriers.
Working collaboratively with community partners, public institutions, schools, and diverse cultural communities, the Coordinator develops educational workshops, facilitates community dialogues, coordinates public awareness campaigns, and creates opportunities for meaningful intercultural engagement. The position also supports project planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting, evaluation, and continuous program improvement to ensure outcomes align with organizational priorities and funder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1.Program Planning and Delivery
· Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate anti-racism programming for newcomers and the broader community.
· Develop and facilitate workshops, presentations, and educational sessions on topics including racism, discrimination, unconscious bias, cultural awareness, allyship, equity, and inclusion.
· Organize community dialogues, cultural exchange activities, awareness campaigns, and public education events that promote understanding and social cohesion.
· Develop culturally responsive educational resources and program materials in both digital and print formats.
· Ensure programming is accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed, and responsive to the diverse needs of participants.
2.Community Engagement and Partnerships
· Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, schools, employers, public institutions, Indigenous organizations, settlement agencies, and other stakeholders.
· Represent AIWCC at community meetings, working groups, networking events, and anti-racism initiatives.
· Coordinate collaborative events and projects that strengthen community relationships and promote inclusive practices.
· Recruit, train, and support volunteers and community facilitators involved in program delivery.
3.Client Support and Community Education
· Empower newcomers by increasing awareness of their rights, responsibilities, and available supports when experiencing racism or discrimination.
· Provide information and referrals to appropriate legal, settlement, employment, mental health, and community resources.
· Develop outreach strategies to recruit participants through community organizations, schools, faith groups, social media, and community events.
· Create educational resources, toolkits, and promotional materials to support anti-racism awareness and learning.
· Support participants in accessing culturally appropriate services and encourage civic engagement and community participation.
4.Project Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation
· Develop annual work plans and monitor project activities to ensure successful implementation.
· Maintain accurate participant records, attendance, outcome measurements, surveys, and program statistics using organizational databases.
· Collect qualitative and quantitative data to measure program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Prepare funding reports, success stories, statistical reports, and evaluation summaries in accordance with funder requirements.
· Use participant feedback and community needs assessments to continuously improve program quality.
5.Supervision and Team Leadership
· Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to program staff, volunteers, and practicum students.
· Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, scheduling, training, and supervision of volunteers and practicum students.
· Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment that supports professional growth and high-quality service delivery.
· Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular coaching and feedback to ensure program objectives are achieved.
· Support staff and volunteers in implementing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and anti-racist practices in all aspects of program delivery.
· Participate in staff meetings, supervision meetings, and performance evaluation processes in collaboration with the Director of Programs & Services.
6.Outreach and Communications
· Develop outreach strategies to increase awareness and participation in anti-racism initiatives.
· Coordinate promotional activities through social media, newsletters, presentations, and community events.
· Create educational content that supports public awareness and encourages inclusive communities.
· Collaborate with AIWCC staff to promote organizational initiatives and community engagement opportunities.
· Represent AIWCC at community meetings, advisory committees, working groups, and networking events.
· Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, employers, Indigenous organizations, and public institutions.
7.Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain organized program files and documentation.
· Assist with budgeting, purchasing program supplies, and monitoring project expenditures.
· Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and organizational events.
· Perform other duties related to the Anti-Racism Program as assigned.
8.Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
· Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Political Science, Sociology, Education, Human Rights, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
· Minimum two years of experience coordinating community programs, preferably within the settlement or non-profit sector.
· Experience facilitating workshops, community engagement initiatives, and public education programs.
· Strong understanding of anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion principles, systemic discrimination, intersectionality, and newcomer settlement issues.
· Knowledge of Canadian human rights legislation, settlement services, and community resources.
· Experience developing partnerships and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
· Strong project coordination, organizational, and time management skills.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Experience preparing reports, collecting data, and evaluating program outcomes.
· Proficiency with Google workspace, virtual meeting platforms, databases is considered an asset.
· Experience coordinating grant-funded community programs
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
· Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Reports to: Director of Programs & Services
Employment Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) starting August 3,2026
Compensation: $30-32.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required to support program activities and community events.
