Full job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Material Handler / Forklift Operator for a full-time contract opportunity in Fergus, ON. This role is ideal for individuals with warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining organized operations. If you have forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing team.
In this position, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials throughout the facility while supporting shipping, receiving, inventory, and production activities.

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
Location: Fergus, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and move products and materials using material handling equipment.
Safely operate a forklift for loading and unloading freight.
Perform counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking of materials and products.
Assist with repackaging materials as required.
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas.
Open containers and crates, fill warehouse orders, and support inventory activities.
Weigh, inspect, and verify materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
Follow all company health and safety policies and safe work procedures.
Assist with inventory counts and stock management activities.
Support warehouse and production operations as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support business requirements.

Qualifications

Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience required.
Experience safely operating a forklift.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent attendance, reliability, and punctuality.
Ability to lift between 25-30 kg (55-66 lbs) on a regular basis.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Assets

Experience with inventory control processes.
Experience working with plastic resin materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience performing material testing.
