WELL Health Diagnostic Centres has an opening for Physician Service Coordinator (PSC) to support our growing operations. The ideal candidate should be able to provide coverage on short notice and should be willing to work every other Saturday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. The individual will be provided an opportunity to work remotely for such hours.
WELL Health Diagnostic Centres has an opening for a Physician Service Coordinator (PSC) to support our growing physician services and teleradiology operations. This role requires flexibility to support an evolving, high-volume environment and includes participation in a rotating Saturday schedule (every other Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM).
The Physician Service Coordinator serves as a key liaison between referring physicians, reporting radiologists, and clinic operations to ensure timely communication, efficient patient flow, and exceptional physician service. The PSC plays an integral role in managing urgent and critical findings, facilitating physician requests, and supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services across our network.
- Answer, assess, and respond to inbound inquiries and initiate outbound communications as required.
- Manage the physician support line and facilitate communication between referring physicians and reporting radiologists via phone and email.
- Coordinate and prioritize STAT, urgent, verbal, and special physician requests.
- Communicate critical findings and verbal reports to referring physicians in a timely manner and escalate results as appropriate.
- Execute physician requests related to patient care promptly and accurately.
- Liaise between reporting physicians, clinic teams, and operational departments to support patient flow and continuity of care.
- Respond to inquiries professionally and provide exceptional customer service to physicians and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all information obtained or disclosed is accurate and compliant with privacy legislation, company policies, and procedures.
- Exercise sound judgment and professionalism when managing sensitive situations, high call volumes, and escalated concerns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding physicians, patients, employees, and company information.
- Monitor daily reports and identify critical findings requiring follow-up or escalation.
- Support operational initiatives and process improvements related to physician services and teleradiology workflows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in healthcare administration, medical imaging, or physician services.
- Strong working knowledge of medical and radiology terminology.
- Experience in a diagnostic imaging or radiology environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of electronic medical record and registration systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
