West Horizon Contracting is located in Smithers, BC, we are currently seeking a versatile operator with a combination of proficiency and experience operating heavy equipment particularly with grader, dozer, as well as some excavator experience.
The applicant should have finish grade work experience with excavators utilizing GPS and without GPS. The daily responsibilities of this role include maintaining and operating the equipment and/or the truck while ensuring its safety and compliance with environmental regulations.
In addition to adhering to safety protocols and completing checklists, time cards, and ticket submissions, the operator must also conduct regular maintenance inspections and promptly notify relevant personnel of any service or repair requirements.

Work locations are projects across the province, but we focus on Northern BC.
Annual start dates varying depending on spring conditions and work usually concluding in December, but with the possibility of continuing through the winter.
Our ideal candidate has a proven record with substantial heavy equipment operating experience particularly with excavators for construction finish grade work, along with both grader and dozer construction experience, as well as a Class 1 Drivers license.
Equally important is for the candidate to have positive communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and follow instructions, as well as good judgment in high-pressure situations. These traits are vital to excel in this fast-paced, high-production environment. The willingness to work overtime, including weekends, when required is a must.
Compensation will be based on the candidate's skills and experience level.
Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
