This role is hybrid and requires working from our client's office in downtown Toronto a minimum of 2 days per week (subject to change).
We are seeking a Junior QA Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Selenium automation using Java and possess a strong understanding of software testing methodologies. This role involves developing automated test scripts, executing regression and functional testing, identifying defects, and working closely with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Candidates with Banking or Salesforce experience will be given preference.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Java.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
- Design and maintain automation frameworks for web applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies.
- Execute manual testing when automation is not feasible.
- Maintain test cases and testing documentation.
- Support CI/CD testing initiatives.
- Participate in production validation and release testing.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- 1–3 years of QA Automation experience.
- Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Good programming skills in Java.
- Understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Experience with regression and functional testing.
- Familiarity with defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking or Financial Services experience.
- Salesforce testing experience.
- API testing using Postman or REST Assured.
- Git and Jenkins experience.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Exposure to BDD/Cucumber.
- Experience working in CI/CD environments.
