- Working within a multi-disciplined onshore Engineering Team, prepare engineering drawings and documents related to design of electrical and instrumentation scopes for offshore oil platforms under the guidance and direction of senior team members.
- Liaising with the instrumentation team and other disciplines through work development; investigating, advising, and resolving design and field engineering problems.
- Assist senior and intermediate designers and engineers with design documentation packages and construction drawing sets.
- Calculate and prepare bills of materials in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, and other specifications.
- Developing data sheets, cause and effect diagrams, block diagrams, loop drawings and other typical instrument and controls deliverables.
- Developing heat trace isometrics, panel board schedules, lighting layouts, single lines and other typical electrical deliverables.
- Participate in the development of solutions to technical issues and in the verification of implementation of these solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to the engineering team as required.
- Technical college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of engineering design experience, ideally within a brownfield industrial environment.
- Experience in conceptual studies, detailed design, and engineering support projects utilizing 2D and 3D design programs.
- Familiar with applicable regulatory codes and design specifications.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation design codes and standards
