Superior Power Products is an independent heavy duty parts and engine distributor located in Calgary, Alberta. Since 1991, Superior has been a trusted supplier for heavy duty truck and equipment repair shops all over Western Canada. We provide for many different applications which include engine lines from CAT, Cummins, Detroit, International as well as lighter-duty equipment powered by Perkins, John Deere, Kubota, Case, Komatsu, Iveco and more.

We are looking for an experienced Parts Technician who thrives on being a true product expert. We value experience across all subsets of the industry from transportation to agriculture. As a key member of the team, you will have an impact in all aspects of our operations, including counter-sales, parts procurement, inventory control and supporting customers throughout the sales process. This role involves building and fostering relationships with both customers and suppliers alike. Your ability and inclination to master our inventory management system will be crucial to your success.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Customer & Sales Management: Act as the primary point of contact for our customers, providing expert advice, creating detailed quotes, and fulfilling all orders accurately and on time to meet our same-day fulfillment promise.
- Inventory Control: Meticulously manage our parts warehouse, including receiving, stocking, assigning bin locations, and ensuring data accuracy within the inventory management software. Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain precise stock levels. Provide recommendations for new product.
- Procurement & Supplier Relations: Manage purchase orders from creation to fulfillment, consistently tracking order status. Source new suppliers, assess their reliability, and negotiate competitive pricing and terms.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Utilize all features of our inventory management system (e.g., kitting, sales analysis, pricing, product management) to enhance efficiency. Assist in developing and implementing new procedures to improve departmental workflow.
- Warehouse Operations: Handle the physical aspects of the role, including boxing, shipping, and material handling in an organized and safe manner.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Parts Technician or a similar sales-type role.
- Certification: Red Seal Journeyman Parts Technician certification is a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of parts identification, sourcing, and procurement. High proficiency with inventory management systems and point-of-sale software.
- Customer Focus: A proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring repeat business and satisfaction.
- Warehouse Management: Strong experience with stock management, bin location assignment, and conducting inventory counts.
- Physical Capability: Capable of performing moderately intensive labour in a warehouse environment.
