As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to join our leadership team as Controller.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Broker and President, and working closely with the Vice President of Operations and the leadership team, the Controller will lead the company's corporate accounting function and play an important role in supporting the organization's continued growth.
This position is suited to an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical expertise with sound business judgment. The successful candidate will oversee corporate financial reporting, strengthen internal financial controls, mentor our accounting team and contribute to the ongoing development of our financial systems, processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the corporate accounting and finance function.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Supervise, mentor and develop the accounting team.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Commercial real estate common area reconcillations.
- Monthly property accounting reviews.
- Respond and attend to Condominium Board accounting meetings.
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
- Coordinate year-end reporting and work closely with the company's external auditors and professional advisors.
- Oversee corporate banking relationships and treasury functions.
- Review trust accounting procedures and support regulatory compliance.
- Develop executive financial reporting and key performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and process improvements, including the continued optimization of Yardi.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- CPA designation in good standing.
- A minimum of ten years of progressive accounting experience.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring an accounting team.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience within property management, real estate, hospitality, construction or another multi-entity organization will be considered an asset. Experience with Yardi or comparable enterprise accounting software is also desirable.
