The office of Patrick Weiler, Member of Parliament for West Vancouver – Sunshine Coast – Sea to Sky Country is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Community Outreach Coordinator position.
About the role:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of community events, meetings, and stakeholder engagements initiatives throughout the riding. This role involves extensive collaboration and organization with local organizations, community leaders, and residents to strengthen relationships and support meaningful engagement opportunities.
The successful candidate will help ensure the Member is represented at important community events in the Sea to Sky, Bowen Island, West Vancouver and Lions Bay area. You will assist in organizing events hosted by the Member, including roundtables, town halls, question-and-answer sessions, and other community-focused initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring the Member maintains a strong and visible presence throughout the riding.

Primary responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and execute the Member's community events, including roundtables, town halls, and other public engagement initiatives in the Sea to Sky, Bowen Island, West Vancouver, and Lions Bay area.

Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, local leaders, stakeholders, and residents.

Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, by drafting and coordinating community-facing correspondence, invitations, event communications, and outreach materials.

Collaborate with colleagues and provide logistical, administrative, and on-site support to ensure successful outreach activities and community engagement efforts.

Qualifications
Education:

Post-secondary education or recent graduation in a relevant field such as communications, public administration, political science, business administration, or a combination of education and experiences in event management, community development or previous volunteer experience.
Experiences:
- Experience working with or engaging with community organizations, clubs, student groups, or non-profit organizations.

Previous event planning or event coordination experience in a professional, volunteer, student, or community setting.

Experience with public speaking and presentations.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.

Knowledge of the riding of West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast—Sea to Sky Country, specifically, knowledge of the Sea to Sky, Bowen Island, West Vancouver and Lions Bay area.
Working Requirements:

Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle.

Availability during evenings and weekends as required.
