Role Overview
A+G Reforestation is looking for Type III Crew Leaders to join our wildfire program for the 2026 fire season.
Based out of Squamish and Princeton, you'll lead wildfire crews on deployments across British Columbia, protecting communities, infrastructure, and natural resources during wildfire incidents.
Crew Leaders are placed on an on-call deployment roster and deployed as requested by the BC Wildfire Service. Deployments may last up to 16 consecutive days and often involve working in remote and physically demanding environments.
Accommodation is provided in fire camps or motels, and meals or per diems are supplied depending on deployment conditions.
Core Responsibilities
As a Crew Leader, you'll be responsible for the safety, supervision, and performance of your crew while working within the Incident Command System.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining crew safety, accountability, and productivity
- Supervising wildfire suppression activities including line construction, mop-up, patrol, and burn-off operations
- Communicating effectively with Incident Command and other resources
- Completing documentation and crew administration as required
- Fostering a positive, professional team culture in challenging field conditions
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 20 certified fireline days
- S-100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety
- S-185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance
- S-212 Fireline Communications
- S-230 Introduction to Supervision
- S-235 Burn Off and Backfiring
- ICS 100
- WHMIS
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
- Ability to successfully complete the BCWS Moderate Fitness Test (3.22 km walk in under 30 minutes carrying a 25 lb backpack)*
- Ability to travel to either our Squamish or Princeton base when deployed
*Physical fitness testing will be conducted by A+G prior to deployment
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
The following qualifications are considered strong assets but are not required:
- Power Saw Operator
- Wildfire Danger Tree Assessor (DTA)
- Occupational First Aid (Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced)
- Previous experience leading wildfire crews

Pay: $28.18-$33.44 per hour
