POSITION SUMMARY:
PVT is a premium oilfield transportation and service company known for professional operators, dependable equipment, and high-quality client service.
We are seeking experienced Hydrovac Owner Operators who can provide a qualified operator, swamper and late-model equipment that meet PVT’s safety, operational, certification, and presentation standards.
The Owner Operator will safely complete hydro vac excavation, utility exposure, slot trenching, debris removal, and related oilfield work.
The successful contractor must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, reliability, safety awareness, and accountability while representing PVT on client locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:·
- Safely operate Hydrovac equipment.
- Be able to provide Business Incorporation Documents, WCB Clearance, GST Account Number
- Complete pre-trip inspections and job-specific hazard assessments.
- Follow PVT procedures, client requirements, TDG regulations, and hours-of-service requirements.
- Safely load, transport, and unload materials.
- Complete BOL tickets, logbooks, inspections, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
- Inspect and properly secure hoses, tools, and equipment.
- Immediately report defects, incidents, damage, and unsafe conditions.
- Communicate professionally with clients, dispatches, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Provide leadership and task direction to assigned Swampers.
OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Alberta Class 1 or Class 3 license with air-brake endorsement
- Acceptable 5 year commercial driver’s abstract
- Provide Resume for each driver showing past & current experience
- Be able to pass pre-employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol testing
- Be able to pass a Driver Evaluation
- Relevant Hydrovac and oilfield experience
- Current required oilfield safety certifications
- Strong mechanical awareness, communication skills, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and represent PVT professionally
SWAMPER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 license at minimum
- Acceptable 3 year driver’s abstract
- Provide Resume for each swamper showing past & current experience
- Be able to pass pre-employment Medical, Drug & Alcohol testing
- Be able to pass a Driver Evaluation
- Relevant Hydrovac and oilfield experience
- Current required oilfield safety certifications
- Strong mechanical awareness, communication skills, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and represent PVT professionally
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Late-model Hydrovac equipment in excellent mechanical, operational, and professional condition
- Current registrations, inspections, permits, insurance, and all applicable unit certifications
- Provide Tank inspection paperwork (all of it VKIP and UC if applicable) often only the last VK is provided andcopy of hose inspections. (if applicable)
- Provide Certificate of Compliance for dangerous good tanks (for all tanks, commonly missed) this is an NSC requirement. (if applicable)
- Equipment must meet regulatory, client, PVT, and job-specific requirements
- Maintenance and repair records must be available upon request
- Equipment must be clean, presentable, and ready for service
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Owner Operators must be available for variable day and night shifts, remote work, camp assignments, weekends, statutory holidays, and on-call work as required.
