As a Project Controls Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in the successful delivery of major engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) projects. Working closely with project managers and clients, you’ll help ensure financial transparency, cost efficiency and control across all project phases.

- Develop and maintain cost control systems to monitor budget performance across engineering, procurement and construction workstreams
- Collaborate with project teams to establish and manage project schedules, cost baselines, forecasts and change management processes
- Support project estimating, cost risk analysis, cash flow modelling and financial reporting
- Monitor costs and schedule performance, analyze variances against plan and proactively recommend corrective actions
- Implement work breakdown structures and project coding systems
- Manage project schedules, including critical path identification and analysis
- Develop resource-loaded schedules, forecast labour needs and prepare histograms
- Produce periodic cost reports tailored to client and project needs, including earned-value management, when applicable
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost engineering and control practices at BBA

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance or a related field
- More than eight years of relevant experience in planning and cost control on capital projects
- Strong project planning, scheduling and project execution experience
- Solid knowledge of project control principles, project life cycles and industry best practices
- Proficiency in scheduling and cost-control software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Excel, Prism, EcoSys, SAP or similar)
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Asset: French (both spoken and written)
- Asset: experience carrying out these functions on projects in the mining, energy or heavy industry sectors
- Asset: experience carrying out these functions on international projects
