Full job description

Fibre Optic Cable Installer/Splicer

Summary

Turn-Key Communications is a prominent provider of structured cable and fiber system integration solutions. With a successful history of delivering top-tier services to diverse industries, including telecommunications and large integrators, we are dedicated to ensuring our clients attain uninterrupted connectivity and optimal network infrastructure. We are a growing company with strong communications ties to numerous communities in Northern Ontario. Duties

· Prepping new fibre cables of different sizes

· Splicing new and existing fibre infrastructure

· Perform cable mid-spans on active fibre cables

· Access aerial fibre locations

· Locating fibre faults

· Able to use OTDR for testing and troubleshooting

· Understanding of internal fibre projects

· Conduct field surveys and fibre audits

· Input project as-built information

· Meticulous workmanship and organization skills are essential

· Able to carry 28ft extension ladder, work in elevated areas including aerial buckets

· Be able to contribute in all areas of our business which includes line construction, aerial and underground cable placement, structured data wiring projects etc.

· Willing to work underground in a mining environment

Requirements

· Fibre Optic technician certificate or equivalent experience is an asset

· Valid G license with clean drivers abstract

Knowledge of fibre and all related tools used in the field

· Be able to complete all company supplied safety training courses

· Service Common Core training an asset

· Experience in FTTH splicing for Bell, Rogers, Telus etc. is an asset

Pay: $26.00-$36.00 per hour
