At Blue Streak Electronics, we are pioneers in automotive electronics, remanufacturing, and advanced diagnostic solutions. Our technology and products power some of the largest automotive retail supply chains in North America, delivering high-quality solutions to industry giants. As we scale our logistics and distribution operations, we are entering the next era of automation: injecting cutting-edge intelligence directly into our operational core.
We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to lead the architecture, design, and deployment of our brand-new Product/Catalog Database. This project is our highest-priority business initiative, and we need a dedicated professional to own it from the ground up.
The ideal candidate is an expert in data modeling who can design a clean, high-performance database capable of managing complex product attributes, variants, and hierarchies. Crucially, this database will support our automotive product lines, meaning experience with complex automotive parts schemas and industry catalog standards is highly required. You will be responsible for building the Product/catalog database from scratch and writing the integrations to cleanly sync data across our ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Catalog Architecture: Own the complete development lifecycle (data modeling, schema design, and implementation) of a new, scalable SQL product catalog database tailored to automotive product data.
- Complex Data Structure Design: Architect the database to seamlessly handle multi-attribute products, parent-child variations, year/make/model applications, and deep digital assets logic.
- Systems Integration & ETL: Write efficient SQL code, stored procedures, and data pipelines to integrate and synchronize the new catalog with our existing Microsoft Dynamics and SOLOCHAIN environments.
- Consultant Collaboration: Partner with our external Dynamics and SOLOCHAIN consultants to map out data requirements, secure necessary database/API access, and ensure smooth data flows.
- Performance & Optimization: Optimize database indexing, query performance, and security configurations to ensure the new catalog is lightning-fast and ready for future scale.
Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent hands-on professional experience).
- Extensive, proven experience as a Database Programmer, SQL Developer, or Database Architect.
- Direct experience building automotive product catalogs or Master Data Management (MDM) systems. Deep familiarity with automotive data standards (e.g., JNP, ACES, PIES, or similar parts compatibility schemas) is strongly preferred.
- Expert-level mastery of relational database design, advanced data modeling techniques, and writing highly optimized SQL.
- Strong capability to design structures for complex product hierarchies, application fitment data, and heavy SKU volumes.
- Excellent technical communication skills, with comfort collaborating with external implementation consultants.
We welcome motivated candidates to submit your resume and cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line "Database Developer/Architect – [Your Name]". We appreciate all applicants for their interest in joining our team; however, please note that only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
