Canadian Home Care Solutions provides specialized home care services for clients requiring dementia care, palliative care, and other complex support needs throughout the Waterloo Region. Our mission is to provide compassionate, unrushed, person-centered care in the comfort of our clients' homes.

Unlike facility-based care, our PSWs care for one client at a time, allowing them to build meaningful relationships and provide the quality of care they were trained to deliver.

Responsibilities

As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care that may include:

Assisting with all activities of daily living
Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Feeding and hydration assistance
Safe lifts, transfers, and mobility support
Dementia care using person-centered approaches (GPA principles considered an asset)
Medication reminders (as appropriate)
Maintaining accurate care documentation
Creating a calm, respectful, and supportive environment
Communicating professionally with families and the care team

Qualifications

Required

PSW Certificate
Minimum 9 years of Personal Support Worker experience
Palliative or end-of-life care
Experience providing full personal care
Comfortable with lifts, transfers, toileting, bathing, and feeding
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a private home

Preferred

Experience in one or more of the following:

Home care
Retirement homes
Long-term care
Group homes
Community Living
Participation House
Brain injury programs
Dementia care
GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approaches) training
Experience mentoring or training other PSWs

Schedule

We offer flexible scheduling with shifts available:

Days
Afternoons
Evenings
Overnights
Weekdays
Weekends

While shifts cannot be guaranteed, care is provided 24/7, so applicants with open availability are strongly preferred.

Compensation

CA$24.00–CA$26.00 per hour
Flexible scheduling

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 20.0 per week
