No.8 Restaurant is seeking an experienced Server to join our front-of-house team.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, takes pride in their craft, and understands the attention to detail required in a fine-dining environment.
Our service style is polished and knowledgeable without being overly formal. Servers are expected to understand the food they are presenting, communicate the intention behind each dish, anticipate the needs of their guests, and create an experience that feels warm, confident, and personal.
Responsibilities
- Providing attentive, polished, and professional table service
- Guiding guests through the menu and dining experience
- Developing a thorough understanding of all dishes, ingredients, preparations, and techniques
- Clearly and confidently communicating the Chef's intention behind each course
- Providing knowledgeable wine, cocktail, spirit, and beverage recommendations
- Performing proper wine service
- Maintaining awareness of allergies, dietary restrictions, and guest preferences
- Maintaining dining room cleanliness, organization, and presentation
- Completing opening, closing, polishing, and side duties
- Working closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Participating in pre-service meetings, menu education, tastings, and ongoing training
- Developing relationships with returning guests and contributing to a strong culture of hospitality
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a fine-dining or high-level restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of professional service standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine interest in food, wine, spirits, and hospitality
- Wine knowledge and previous wine-service experience are strongly preferred
- Ability to learn and confidently communicate detailed menus
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of the dining room
- Ability to remain composed, organized, and professional during demanding services
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Comfortable receiving feedback and continuously improving
- A team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
We are looking for servers who understand that excellent hospitality is more than simply delivering food to a table. It requires knowledge, awareness, timing, personality, and the ability to understand what each guest needs from their experience.
Compensation
Pay: $19–$22 per hour, based on experience
Gratuities: Additional share of the restaurant gratuity pool

No.8 is a small, ambitious fine-dining restaurant with a strong emphasis on food, beverage, and genuine hospitality.
Our servers work closely with the kitchen and are expected to develop a meaningful understanding of the food they are serving. We want our front-of-house team to be able to speak confidently about ingredients, technique, sourcing, wine, and the ideas behind the menu while still allowing service to feel natural and approachable.
This position is best suited to someone who is curious, professional, personable, and genuinely interested in continuing to develop their knowledge of food, wine, and hospitality.
