Full job description

Scope:

Founded in 1998, SYTEC Manufacturing Ltd. is a privately held Alberta Corporation. We are well versed in advanced metal product design & sheet metal manufacturing across a wide range of global industries spanning telecommunications, electrical grid/power distribution, oil and gas, solar, agricultural and many more. We encourage internal and external collaboration to drive continuous improvements.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the General Labourer will be responsible for performing various tasks that support our Production Department. This role requires dedication, perseverance, hard work, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in the workplace. The possibility of advancement is there for the taking for the motivated candidate.

Responsibilities:

· You will perform the following Production activities:

o Grinding, sanding, polishing, and deburring. Assembly duties including riveting, drilling holes, and tapping

o Electro cleaning.

o Pre-painting hanging of parts, pre-painting washing, post-painting un-hanging of parts.

o Material handling.

You will sort, pack, crate and package materials and products for shipping.
You will properly empty garbage containers, sweep work areas, and general Plant housekeeping.
You will clean machines, tools, and immediate work areas.
You will assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
You will follow Occupational Health and Safety Act, Code, Regulations, and our company’s Health and Safety policies.
You will do other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

You have a willingness to learn.
You are dependable and reliable.
You have reliable transportation.
You know how to properly and safely operate small hand tools (powered and manual).

Working Conditions:

You will work between 30 - 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, Day Shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm or Afternoon/Evening Shift 10:00 am - 8:30 pm (Monday to Thursday)
You are required to wear PPE and CSA approved steel-toe boots.
You are able to work additional hours when required (must be pre-approved by Manufacturing).
You can work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
You can work under pressure.
You can stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
