Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll & Administrative Assistant to support payroll processing for truck drivers and assist with day-to-day office administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and verifying driver payroll information, maintaining accurate records, preparing payroll reports, and providing general administrative support.

Key ResponsibilitiesDriver Payroll

Collect and verify driver timesheets, trip sheets, logs, and other payroll documents
Enter and maintain driver payroll information accurately
Calculate driver pay based on applicable pay structures, including mileage, trips, hours, or other agreed compensation
Review deductions, advances, reimbursements, and other payroll adjustments
Check payroll information for errors and missing documentation
Assist with weekly driver payroll processing
Maintain organized payroll records for all drivers
Respond to basic driver questions regarding payroll and pay statements
Assist with payroll reconciliations and reports

Administrative Duties

Maintain driver and employee files and records
Assist with data entry and document filing
Prepare and organize invoices, receipts, and other office documents
Assist with accounts payable/receivable and basic bookkeeping as required
Answer phone calls and emails and communicate with drivers and customers
Assist with scheduling and dispatch-related administrative tasks when required
Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel
Perform other general office duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, trucking, or office administration experience is an asset
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work with confidential payroll information
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Knowledge of trucking payroll or driver compensation is an asset

The position may be suitable for an entry-level candidate with strong computer, administrative, and numerical skills. Experience with Quickbooks is preferred.

MUST BE ABLE TO RELIABLY COMMUTE TO THE OFFICE IN ACTON ON

Pay: $18.00 per hour
