Mission: Turn customer ideas into real, production-grade value on the IrisX platform.
As a Software Engineer in Trackunit’s Professional Services team, you’ll join a growing group of engineers building tailored solutions on top of IrisX – our operating data platform - helping construction companies across the world turn their data into real operational value.
Professional Services is where product depth meets customer impact. Our engineers work closely with customers to design and build solutions that scale across the entire ecosystem of construction – manufacturers, rental companies and contractors. This is project-based work with real ownership: you’ll take ideas from whiteboard to production, across backend, frontend, and data engineering.
Our strategic mission is clear: accelerate customer onboarding, drive IrisX platform adoption, and deliver the kind of high-quality engineering that makes Trackunit’s developer experience a genuine competitive advantage for our customers.
With a location in the heart of London, Ontario, we offer a flexible setup giving you the option to work from our London hub or remotely in Ontario. That said, we do expect you to be present at the London hub on a regular basis.
If you enjoy working across the stack, thrive on variety, and take pride in shipping quality software that solves real problems for real customers - this is your kind of role.
Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer a flexible setup and believe you best can structure how your routines look. And once you’ve chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we’ve got you covered with the IT equipment you need.
Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we aim to create and contribute to an inclusive workplace. This priority starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit.
Compensation: The base salary hiring range in Ontario for this role is $100.000 - $165.000 CAD per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Working in Professional Services means working in a customer facing role across the full stack - backend, frontend, data engineering, and system integrations - and we see that as an opportunity, not a constraint. You’ll broaden your skills across domains with every engagement. At the same time, we’re not just looking for a generalist: we expect you to bring deep expertise in at least one area, whether that’s frontend, backend, or data engineering. Broad enough to contribute anywhere, deep enough to lead in your domain.
You’re a generalist at heart - comfortable working across the full stack and excited by the opportunity to broaden your skills with every engagement. At the same time, you bring solid hands-on expertise in at least one domain: frontend, backend, or data.
Backend: REST APIs, Java Spring Boot, Node.js, Kafka, Flink and modern cloud-based microservice and event-driven architectures
Data: Databricks, Python, SQL, Spark, PostgreSQL
You embrace AI as a core part of how you engineer. From early prototyping and validation through to production, you use AI tools as an integrated part of your workflow - not as a shortcut, but as a force multiplier. At Trackunit, AI is not a side project: we invest heavily in AI for internal use across all functions, and it’s increasingly embedded in our product offering as well.
Don’t meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we’re looking for ideally. If you’re excited about this role but your background doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.
Don’t waste your time writing the perfect cover letter. We want you to create an impact that matters - and that’s not in the cover letter.
