This is an exciting time at CGI as we continue expanding our delivery capability across Atlantic Canada.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer with 10+ years of hands-on expertise across modern enterprise technologies including Java 11/17, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular (v17+), REST APIs, cloud-native development, and secure coding practices. You will work on scalable, high-performance enterprise applications leveraging contemporary tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools.
You will join a collaborative Agile team focused on delivering high-quality, maintainable, and secure solutions that support critical business operations. This is a permanent full-time role, onsite 5 days per week from either our Halifax, NS or Moncton, NB offices.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to solve complex distributed system challenges while mentoring and uplifting the broader development team.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/J2EE applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and multi-layered enterprise-grade applications.
- Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular (v17 and above).
- Design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL/PL-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects (Oracle preferred).
- Implement and manage ORM solutions using Hibernate/JPA.
- Build and deploy applications in AWS cloud environments (EKS, S3, Lambda).
- Develop containerized applications using Docker and manage orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, and standard Git strategies.
- Leverage Gen AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, generate code, and automate testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers and promote development best practices across teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development.
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, and REST API development.
- Proven experience with Angular (v17+) and modern front-end development practices.
- Strong experience with Oracle databases, SQL/PL-SQL, stored procedures, data movement, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of Hibernate, JPA, and ORM best practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong working knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy).
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in distributed environments.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000–$145,000. This role is a future vacancy.
