Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

Job description

Cowichan Valley Volkswagen is preparing to open in Duncan, BC, and we are looking for a high-energy, organized, and positive Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team.

This position requires strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks throughout the day.

Cowichan Valley Volkswagen is part of the same family ownership group as Harbourview Volkswagen in Nanaimo, a locally and family-owned dealership serving Vancouver Island since 1983.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a brand-new Volkswagen dealership from the beginning.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with:

· Reception and customer service, including greeting customers, answering phones, and booking in vehicles

· Daily accounting and administrative tasks, including transaction processing, accounts payable, deal posting, factory invoices, warranty payments, and account reconciliations

· Preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports, files, and internal documentation

· Supporting the Controller and management team with additional administrative duties as required

· Protecting confidential information and contributing to a professional, organized, and positive workplace

Required skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
Comfort working with numbers, processing transactions, and performing basic accounting or reconciliation tasks
The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
General computer skills and the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially

Preferred experience

The following would be considered assets:

Experience in a similar role
Previous dealership or automotive experience
Previous accounting or administration experience
PBS experience
