The Opportunity
Otter Wise Talent Solutions is recruiting an experienced Red Seal Industrial Formwork Carpenter for a major industrial construction project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
This role is ideal for an experienced industrial carpenter who enjoys challenging work, takes pride in producing high-quality structural concrete, and thrives in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment. Working under the direction of the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, modifying, and dismantling concrete formwork used to build critical industrial infrastructure.

Union Membership
This position is performed under a collective agreement.
Successful candidates will be required to become members of the applicable trade union (if they are not already members) and maintain union membership as a condition of employment.
The applicable collective agreement governs wages, overtime, vacation pay, pension contributions, benefits, union dues, training opportunities, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Otter Wise Talent Solutions is hiring experienced Red Seal Industrial Formwork Carpenters for a major industrial construction project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. We are seeking skilled tradespeople with experience building and dismantling concrete formwork on oil & gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, mining, power generation, heavy industrial, and infrastructure projects. Candidates experienced with Doka, Peri, Aluma, gang forms, and conventional formwork systems are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and structural specifications.
- Construct, install, brace, and dismantle concrete formwork systems.
- Build foundations, walls, columns, slabs, equipment foundations, and structural concrete structures.
- Install embeds, sleeves, inserts, anchor bolts, and miscellaneous concrete accessories.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble formwork materials.
- Verify layout, elevations, plumb, level, and dimensional accuracy.
- Work safely around cranes and rigging operations.
- Mentor apprentice carpenters.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company and site safety requirements.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture on site.
Qualifications Required
- Red Seal Carpenter (Journeyperson) Certification.
- Minimum three years of industrial concrete formwork experience.
- Experience on heavy industrial construction projects.
- Valid CSTS 2020.
- Valid Fall Protection.
- Valid Confined Space certification.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors.
