The role isn't about installing software. It's about understanding how people work, eliminating wasted effort, and helping staff use AI and automation effectively. Is responsible for improving how Carmacks works by identifying manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes and helping teams replace them with simpler, more consistent ways of working through process improvement, automation, and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot. Duties and responsibilities are:
- Process Improvement
- Spend time within each department observing how work is completed.
Automation
- Identify repetitive administrative tasks suitable for automation.
- Develop Power Automate workflows and other Microsoft 365 automations.
- Reduce duplicate data entry between systems.
- Work with IT to ensure automation aligns with company standards.
- Measure time savings from implemented solutions.
Artificial Intelligence & Copilot
- Lead Carmacks' adoption of Microsoft Copilot.
- Train employees and managers on practical daily uses.
- Develop department-specific prompts and best practices.
- Help employees identify tasks that Copilot can perform.
- Build a library of reusable prompts and templates.
- Evaluate new AI tools that could benefit the organization.
Operational Excellence
- Conduct operational reviews with departments.
- Identify waste and administrative burden.
- Recommend improvements that reduce effort while maintaining controls.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track measurable productivity gains.
Change Management
- Support leaders through implementation of new processes.
- Deliver training and coaching.
- Help employees become comfortable with new technology.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of operational workflows
- Experience with process improvement methodologies
- Microsoft 365 expertise
- Microsoft Copilot
- Power Automate
- Power BI (preferred)
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to work with both field and office employees
- Strong curiosity and analytical thinking
- Practical understanding of construction or industrial operations is an asset
What do we value?
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science/data science/information systems or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within a data-driven environment.
- Experience with machine learning and analytics
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience with Google Sheets, including Google Apps Script for automation and integrations.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and data transformation tools
- Comfortable working with APIs and cloud-based data platforms
- Good understanding of data modeling, data governance, and best practices for maintaining data quality and consistency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills; able to simplify complex data findings for non-technical audiences
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
