We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly, with the ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
This role involves working on a variety of projects, including ductwork, structural components, mechanical assemblies, and custom fabrications. The successful candidate will be safety-conscious, quality-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials according to drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Fabricate metal components using plasma cutting equipment, press brakes, hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Measure, mark, cut, fit, and weld components to required dimensions and tolerances
- Use calipers, measuring tools, and layout equipment to verify accuracy during fabrication
- Assist with the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or systems
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment safely as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Collaborate with team members on custom fabrication, ductwork, structural, and mechanical assembly projects
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience using calipers, measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Basic math skills for measurements, layouts, and fabrication calculations
- Experience with plasma cutting, press brakes, machining tools, rigging, cranes, and forklifts is preferred
- Experience with ductwork, structural steel, or custom fabrication is an asset
- Aluminum welding experience is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of mechanical systems or construction-related schematics is an asset
