Full job description

TF Warren Group is a premier lining, coating and rail maintenance facility located in Brantford, Ontario. Our rail division is currently looking for new day and afternoon shift General Labourers to join our team. Must be available to work from 6am to 4pm OR 4pm to 2am Monday through Thursday. Please indicate which shift you are applying for on your resume.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform general labour around the shop
Strip rubber off interior of vessels
Performing paint touch-ups
Work with hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
Administrative tasks, such as accurate time keeping, repair schedule and completion records
Material handling
Ensure compliance to applicable legislation, company policies, quality standards, TF Warren’s Core Values
Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

1 year experience in general labour environment
Forklift experience and overhead crane are assets
High school education with preference for some post-secondary education in relevant field
Ability to understand English, comply with instruction, and comprehend rules and procedures
Strong customer focus
Safety and results oriented with a solid mechanical background
Must have strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Demonstrated attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

Comfortable working in an industrial facility that performs abrasive blasting and coatings
Capable and willing to perform physically demanding work – ie. bending, standing and walking continuously for hours at a time, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor skills to use hand and power tools
Comfortable working at heights up to 10 m
Comfortable working in confined spaces
Ability to wear a respirator
Physical capability to operate a forklift
Must have CSA approved safety boots and will be provided with eyewear and hard hat
