Pay: $26.16 - $32.71 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule: 8 hour shift - 7 AM to 3 PM
Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate: Cambridge, ON N3E 1B8 (reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work required)

Description
The Facilities and Maintenance Labourer is responsible for Service and maintain our plants in Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose repair and maintain any problems that occur with the facility throughout the day, drywall, ceilings, paint, plumbing and building structure

Move and repair furniture
-
Replace water filters and hand dryer filters when needed.

Maintain water softeners and salt when needed
-
Reading and log sprinkler system water meters

Help contractors maintain walkway, smoking area and parking lot during the winter months

Operate tractor (snow and shovel)

Advise whether a contractor or parts are needed

Pick up and deliver any parts that may be needed or repaired

Clean and maintain the grounds
-
Repair signage or replace when needed
-
Maintain and replace flags when needed

Guide contractors throughout the facilities, ensure PPE worn as appropriate

Remove or build crates for shipping purposes

Special Projects and other duties as assigned

Conduct grounds and facilities walks paying close attention to any safety concerns and responding appropriately

Maintain Key Control by keeping a log of all keys and keyholders, ensuring all keys are signed for and only provided as per business requirement

Create, build and maintain items such as benches, desks, shelving etc. to support continuous improvement, manufacturing and health & safety initiatives.

Work in collaboration with engineering, maintenance production and other cross functional teams as required

Training for D license to become back-up driver as needed is preferred

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Grade 12 High School Diploma

Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC, Paint, and Drywall Experience

Strong ability to multi-task with a high level of organizational and prioritization skills

Attention to detail with a high-quality standard is needed

Interpersonal and oral communication skills are a must
-
Deal with time sensitive job task
-
Ability to work independently with little direction
-
Experience with a maintenance tracking system (ISPro)

Safety oriented and sound knowledge of OH&S policies, procedures and regulations

Ability to lift up to 25 kgs
-
Previous experience with working at heights, forklift and scissor lifts is an asset

The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, energetic and well organized
-
Excellent English communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
